Every year, Mask & Bauble Dramatic Society presents the Donn B. Murphy One-Acts Festival (DBMOAF), which celebrates student-written work. 2011’s iteration featured two brand-new plays: Peaches and Freon: A Musical, a hilarious student-written musical that lampooned the very notion of musicals, written by Ryan Dull and Michael Franch and featured music by Andrew Pendergrast, and #Courage, a play that I wrote over the summer as a response to the events of the Arab Spring and the increasingly important role social media had in influencing them. Echoing the core mission of the festival, all the elements in the poster design were hand-drawn to highlight the value of the human touch in artistic expression.
